Vice President Fang Jianyin gave a report on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to faculty and some student representatives of the School of Science on the morning of December 20th. Titled "Following the Pace of Chinese Modernization and Promoting High-Quality Development of School Affairs", the report was held via Tencent Meeting and hosted by Dean Song Changming of the School of Science.

Fang Jianyin comprehensively and systematically interpreted the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China from four aspects: "The Difficult Exploration of the Communist Party of China on the Road to Modernization", "The Essence and Major Principles of Chinese Modernization", "The Influence of Chinese Modernization" and "The Actions of Chinese Workers". He also made a detailed analysis and interpretation of the new ideas, new perspectives and new requirements proposed by the 20th National Congress. At the same time, he proposed major measures for the school to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress in combination with the school's development goals and key tasks in the next period.

Fang Jianyin finally emphasized that all faculty and students must take the spirit of the 20th National Congress as their guide, adhere to the Party's educational policy, actively integrate into the national strategy of revitalizing China through science and education, strengthening China through talents, and driving development through innovation, actively benchmarking Henan Province's "two guarantees" struggle goals and "ten strategies" development layout, fully implementing the strategic deployment of the fourth party congress in school, and working hard with one heart and one mind to move forward bravely.

Song Changming concluded his speech by saying that Fang's report was rich in content, logical in structure, profound in thought, which had a great inspiration for everyone to deeply understand and accurately grasp the spirit of the 20th National Congress, benefiting everyone greatly. He also put forward three requirements for faculty members in School of Science to study and publicize the spirit of the 20th National Congress: firstly, further study should be done to form a strong atmosphere for learning and publicizing; secondly, profound understanding should be achieved to grasp its essence; thirdly, theory should be linked to practice to ensure implementation, combining implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress with annual goals and tasks to promote effective work.
